Collection of Personal Information
You do not need to provide any information that identifies you ("personal information") to use this website. In general, you can visit our website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information.
However, if you want to access certain enhanced and premium services offered through this site, such as bid offers, contract confirmation, and advanced market commentary, you will be required to provide some personal information, including your name, address, and telephone number, to your local ADM merchandiser or manager. You also will be asked to identify yourself to your local ADM merchandiser or manager as a producer or a dealer, and to provide your vendor number. Once the local ADM merchandiser or manager submits this personal information and it is approved, you will be given a user name and password. You will be required to provide that user name and password information when accessing enhanced and premium features on the ADM website.
Use of Personal Information
ADM uses your personal information for four general purposes. First, we use the information to activate your account and to give you (and only you) online access to your account information, transportation information, and ADM proprietary information in a secured environment. Second, we use the information to respond to billing and/or other questions related to services offered on the ADM website. Third, we use the information to understand your use of the ADM website and to send you materials on certain products and/or services about which you might be interested. Fourth, we may use this information in aggregate form to help us evaluate and modify existing services, and to help us develop additional services that are likely to be of interest to our users.
Disclosure of Personal Information
We also may share your personal information with unaffiliated third parties in limited instances. For example, we may share your personal information with those third parties with which we enter into joint ventures. We also may share your personal information as is necessary to process or collect payments, or to service accounts. In addition, we may hire third-party technology providers to host this website and to store your personal information. Also, personal information may be disclosed to unaffiliated third parties in the unlikely event of a sale or liquidation of substantially all of the assets of ADM.
We may also share aggregate, non-personal information about website usage with unaffiliated third parties, including, but not limited to, government agencies, advertisers, and the media (i.e., __% of ADM users are producers, __% of users have visited certain sections, etc.). This aggregate information does not contain any personal information about our users.
Finally, we may be required to disclose personal information by law or legal process, to protect and defend the rights or property of ADM or to protect the personal safety of ADM website users and customers. We reserve the right to contact appropriate authorities when activities that are illegal or violate our policies are taking place on an ADM website.
Except under the limited circumstances described above, we will not disclose any of your personal information to third parties.
How We Protect Personal Information
ADM takes reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access through the use of network firewalls, physical security, and use and access policies for employees. We safeguard customer information from unauthorized access by limiting the number of employees permitted to access such information, and by having in place processes for disciplinary action where appropriate.
Accessing or Deleting Your Personal information
If you would like to access your personal information, please contact your local ADM merchandiser or manager. They will use reasonable efforts to supply you with this information and to correct any factual inaccuracies that you identify.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Non-Personal Information
In some cases, ADM may collect information about you that is not personally identifiable, as described below.
Internet Protocol Addresses
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. This number does not identify your name, e-mail address or other personal information. If you request pages from this website, our server will enter your IP address into a log. We store IP addresses for a period of time to help us to identify anyone who refuses to comply with our in-house rules or terms of service, and to identify visitors who threaten our service, site, customers or others. We also will use this information to measure site traffic for purposes of system administration and for our sponsors. This aggregate data also helps us to understand how people are using the website and helps us improve your online experience.
Safeguarding Children’s Privacy
ADM does not knowingly collect personal information or any other identifying data from children under 13 years of age. Should a child whom we know to be under 13 send personal information to ADM, we will immediately delete that information from our database.
