Grain futures were lower on Thursday. It was a commodity selling day, with the dollar higher, crude oil lower, and equities lower. The poor economic news of increased unemployment prompted today's action in these markets. The favorable crop weather forecast was also responsible for the selling as traders positioned going into the three-day holiday weekend. Have a safe 4th of July! SOYBEANS... Soybean futures were lower, seeing July down 15.5 cents and November down 9.5 cents. The soymeal and soyoil followed suit, pressured by concerns that reduced demand couldn't sustain the June price highs. Outside markets were a bearish influence, putting the damper on inflation talk that had been fueling some the money flow into commodities. The July-November soybean spread moved to a new high this week, which like prompted some profit taking the last couple days ahead of the holiday weekend.
